Privacy policy

Who we are

Fluuuid is a furniture studio run by Monica and Jaime. It operates under Enso Digital Ltd., a company based in Calgary, Alberta, which is responsible for the information you give us on this page.

We ask for very little: your email and four answers about the cart. We use them to tell you when the price is confirmed and to learn what would make you hesitate. We don’t sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

What we collect

We collect what you type into the reservation form, plus a few details about how the page is used. Nothing else, and no advertising trackers.

When deposits open, Stripe processes the $50 payment. We receive your name, email and whether the payment went through. We never see or store your card number.

Email and your consent

When you submit the form, you agree that Fluuuid may email you about:

• the confirmed price, the ship date and how to reserve with the refundable deposit
• your deposit, if you place one
• new pieces from Fluuuid, a few times a year at most

Every email comes from Fluuuid, carries our mailing address and has an unsubscribe link. One click takes you off the list. We act on it right away, and always within the 10 business days Canadian law allows. You can also unsubscribe by writing to j@jaimeaoyagi.com.

If you place a deposit, we will still send emails about that transaction, such as receipts and refunds, after you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell, rent or trade your information. Only Monica and Jaime can read the signups. A few companies run parts of this page for us. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

We would also disclose information if the law required it, for example under a court order.

Where it’s stored

Your information is stored and processed in the United States, on servers run by the providers above. While it is there, US law applies to it, and US courts and authorities may be able to access it. Our providers are bound by contract to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep your signup as long as you’re on our list and we’re making pieces. It ends in one of three ways:

• You unsubscribe. We stop emailing you. We keep only your email address on a do-not-email list, so you aren’t added again by mistake.
• You ask us to delete it. We delete your email and answers within 30 days. We may keep your answers about room and hesitation with your email removed, so they can no longer be tied to you.
• We stop. If Fluuuid stops making pieces, or hasn’t emailed you in 24 months, we delete your signup.

If you place a deposit, we keep the payment record for as long as Canadian tax law requires, currently six years.

Your choices

Write to j@jaimeaoyagi.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can ask us to:

• show you the information we hold about you
• correct it
• delete it
• stop emailing you

We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address you signed up with, so nobody else can make it on your behalf.

If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security

The form sends your answers over an encrypted connection to our server, which writes them to the database. The database cannot be read from the page or the browser. Only Monica and Jaime have access to it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts your information at real risk, we will tell you and the privacy commissioners, as Alberta and Canadian law require.

Children

This page is not meant for anyone under 16. If you’re under 16, please don’t fill in the form.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the information you already gave us, we will email you first.
